Robin is an exceptionally gifted teacher, and worked tirelessly with our daughter. Helping others is clearly her passion. We noticed amazing progress with Anna within thirty days. Robin is very skilled at what she does; she was able to make a task that did not come naturally to Anna, later come instinctively as a result of her teaching techniques. Lisa Z. Minneapolis |
Thank you for all your help tutoring my son last summer. I just couldn't be more pleased with his progress. It was a long and difficult haul to find someone with your expertise, professionalism, and work ethic to assist me with the stressful task of educating a child with dyslexia. Once again my sincere thanks and highest recommendation. Walter G. St. Paul |
“We are so grateful we found Robin! After 3 years of struggling to learn to read, our daughter Autumn was diagnosed with dyslexia in 3rd grade. We sought out an Orton Gillingham tutor after other tutors, reading programs, and services provided at school failed. Autumn had experienced 3 years of failure and was very resistant to trying a new approach and a new tutor, convinced that she would never learn to read. Robin has worked diligently and patiently with Autumn to teach her reading basics and build up her confidence. Robin’s persistence has been remarkable and Autumn learned to trust her methods as she finally saw progress and gained confidence in her reading ability!” Andrea, Minneapolis |
After minimal progress with another tutor, we found Robin through the IDA. Our son Sean has been working with Robin for the past eight months. We are so pleased with his progress in both his reading skills and self-confidence. Not only is Robin an exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled tutor, she possesses a unique talent for inspiring our son to learn. Even on his most resistant days she finds a way to keep him happily engaged. Robin has also been an invaluable resource for us as parents navigating this new world of dyslexia, schools, and IEPs. We are so grateful and relieved to have found her. |
Robin has been an amazing teacher for my son! She has the ability to keep your child interested, but also allows them to have some fun. Robin utilizes her Wilson skills along with her Orton-Gillingham skills to pull out the best techniques to maximize my son's learning. I have used tutors in the past, but it was not successful until we used Robin with her many years of experience. Robin is also extremely passionate about the learning process and that is contagious for my son and myself. I would highly recommend Robin for your student at whatever level they are at! We are so grateful for having Robin in our son's life! Despite more than three years of special education services, our son still could not read. His lack of academic success had him feeling defeated, leading to behaviors that could easily interfere with his learning - but Robin was patient and understood. I'll always remember my son's words to Robin after only a few lessons (and some intense behaviors from my son) he said, "thank you for not giving up on me". Within twenty hours of direct instruction, we began to see significant progress with our son. Armed with new strategies, he willingly began to read, and smiled at his own success. He still has a long road ahead of him, but with Robin guiding the process, we know he will continue to experience success! |
Robin has been a wonderful teacher/tutor for our son. She has given him confidence and pride in his abilities - meeting him where he was at in his own learning journey. In the year that we have worked with Robin, we have seen tremendous progress in his ability to read and write. He is volunteering in class to read aloud and his reading scores have greatly improved. He has caught up with his classmates and has gained significant confidence in himself. Her advice to us as parents on ways to advocate for him and set our son up for success has been spot on. |

I am a special education teacher, and I had the opportunity to get direct consultation and training with Robin and my students who struggle with reading fluency, comprehension and decoding skills. She coached me through constructing my lesson plans, and also gave me feedback on how to individualize and improve them for my students. She is a dedicated professional who works tirelessly to spread her knowledge to educators and to see kids succeed. It was easy to see that sharing her expertise with educators is her true passion in her work.
